Paolo is one of the leading guitar makers in Italy. He is a luthier specialised in the construction and restoration of classical guitars and other plucked stringed instruments. He took a course with Romanillos in Cordoba in 1993, which he recalls with these words:
“I was impressed by José Luis's knowledge of wood, workmanship and the traditional Spanish guitar. I had never met anyone with such a deep knowledge and with so much love and passion, with that never satisfied curiosity, trying to see what is not seen and his mastery in the search for the result. That course was a revelation for me.”

Paolo Coriani follows a line of work and research closely related to the guitars of the 70s. For this reason he has chosen to build a model inspired by those made by Romanillos in his first period, following the construction guidelines of the Hauser type guitar, like the famous one he made for Julian Bream in 1973.
