It has been the perfect culmination of the 10th edition of the Autumn Concerts, which began on November 1 with Abel García Ayala. Like the first concert, this one was held at the Church of Carmelite Fathers in Badalona, with good public attendance, about 200 people, among whom numerous guitar students from the Badalona Conservatory, invited by our Association. Admission was free, with the option to make a voluntary donation at the end of the concert.
Zoran Dukic showed us how far the mastery of a musician can go and made us forget the instrument in his hands and got to simply enjoy the music, crossing, in a single trip, universes as distant and different as those of Bach, Piazzolla, Bogdanovic and Barrios, and brought them close to us.
The concert that Zoran Dukic gave us was intense, splendid and generous, lasting about an hour and a half.
He began playing a succession of pieces by Bach and Piazzolla without interruptions and alternating both composers, thus creating a round-trip “baroque-tango”, a piece that by itself occupied the entire first half of the concert (forty minutes) ending up leaving everyone present breathless, including the interpreter himself.
Such a pirouette is only viable if it is conceived and performed by a true master. The video that you can watch here aims to summarize this musical display in less than ten minutes, reflecting some magical moments of the performance and the transitions from one composer to another. Virtuosity like Zoran Dukic's is rare. It deserves that you spend the ten minutes it takes, and listen to it with good quality headphones or speakers.
