Carlos Juan Busquiel eenowned classical guitar maker based in Petrer (Alacant). He attended the course directed by Romanillos in Sigüenza in 2010. He builds replicas of La Leona, a famous guitar made by Antonio de Torres.
He combines his work as a luthier with the training of new guitar makers through classroom courses or his innovative online training website.
For this exhibition, Carlos Juan Busquiel has built a guitar named La Esperada.
LA ESPERADA
To build La Esperada, Carlos Juan Busquiel has used the Torres SE43 template as well as the Romanillos/Torres bracing from the second period.
The rosette and top purflings are inspired by "La Cariñosa (II)" and the decoration of the headstock and back and ribs in "La Culé".
The soundboard is made of spruce. For the neck, curly cedar has been used and cypress has been chosen for the back and sides due to the appreciation that the master had for this wood.
