Her passion for carpentry on the one hand and her admiration for the guitar on the other, converged in 2004 in her training as a luthier.

Mónica Esparza took several courses with José Luis Romanillos in Sigüenza between 2004 and 2012.

Today she builds excellent concert guitars in the Spanish tradition.

LA AGRADECIDA

For the Badalona exhibition, Mónica has built a guitar named La Agradecida, inspired by the guitar La Amistad, built by Romanillos  during the 2012 course, which was the last one Monica attended.

For the bracing inside the box she has followed the same plans she did in 2012. He has also respected the "V" fit of the neck and headstock, and the 18-hole bridge, so characteristic of Romanillos guitars.

Mónica has photographed with constancy and meticulousness her process of creation, which allows us to contemplate below multiple aspects and phases of the construction of a handmade concert guitar. Thank you very much, Mónica.
